Speculate among yourselves.

In response to a general announcement that student IDs would be required to obtain entry to the exam room, the following exchange of messages occurred:
Marcello: I don't have a student ID. Is that a problem?

Professor: No, your driver's license will be fine.

Marcello: Due to an incident on New Year's Eve, I don't have a license either.
Hmm.

Then you will need to bring your mother or your father to vouch for you.

It could be an incident as innocent as being the victim of a stolen wallet.

I'm curious why it's not a problem that he doesn't have a student ID. At my University, we practically needed an ID to pee. You couldn't get by without one for more than a few days. Licenses didn't work as replacements.

In that case, a small cover charge, say $20 would suffice for me.

I can't believe they let people like Marcello into college. [sigh]

That's pretty funny. Students crack me up sometimes.
