It feels too icky.

I'm writing two pieces that are not novel contributions to any sort of literature. They are, in fact, the kind of writing for which some people (e.g., my editor) advocate plagiarism -- of one's own work, of course.

I spent this morning cutting and pasting bits of my own already-published prose into a new document. However, I don't think I can do it regardless of whose blessing I receive. I'm going to have to rewrite these damned things from scratch.

Think of it as green research because you are recycling. Then you can feel smug about it.

What about quoting yourself and referring to the works in question?

Or write "As I mentioned in my book called X, Y is an issue for Z reasons".
