Yeah, no thanks.

One large tent at the county fair is dedicated to getting kids familiar with the sheriff's office and the nice big boys in brown. We spent some time there this afternoon and the Angry Kid got a big bag o' sheriff swag. Among the plastic badges, coloring books and stickers was a fat booklet of word-search puzzles. The Angry Kid loves word-search puzzles.

Here are some of the puzzle themes (and an example of a word to search for):
  1. Foreclosures (Assignment of bid)
  2. Property room (Chain of custody)
  3. Sex offenders (Sexual battery)
  4. Concealed carry license (House bill twelve)
  5. Breaking the law (Bomb threat)
  6. In jail (Hooch)
  7. Child support (Arrearage)
  8. Sex offenders II (Child pornography)
  9. Real estate (Praecipe)
  10. At work (Deferred compensation)
  11. Bomb squad (Grenade)
  12. Internal affairs (Sexual harassment)

Edited to add: Here is a page from the book. I can only assume this book was intended for grownups; why it was given out to kids is a mystery. (There were also free gun locks all over the place. The Angry Kid tried to slide a few of those into her bag too.)
