I'm watching the Superbowl halftime show: the Rolling Stones playing to a captive audience. I have to wonder, why even try? Like if they do a really crappy show they won't be able to sell any more albums? Or they won't be asked to do a halftime show again?
I keep thinking that if my dissertation committee tried to do a few Stones covers at our next conference banquet, this is kind of what it would look like. Except the graduate students wouldn't be jumping up and down and squealing.

I can't believe they bleeped that.
I don't think they bleeped it. I think Mick just skipped the word.
According to BBC news online, they censored two words... funny that the American media has been a bit slower in picking that up.

Huh, so there you have it. I feel kind of better about the show now. The thought that Mick would censor himself was depressing in the extreme.
Just a quick note to let you know that now that I'm back at school (not yours), I'm taking Statistics (partly inspired by you) and it is my favorite class!
I can't believe how much sense this stuff makes! Sets and counting and Venn Diagrams and intersections and permutations and combinations. I'm loving it.
How many zip codes will have an even number as a product?
10 to the 5th minus 5 to the fifth (all zips minus the number of zips that are made of only odd numbers).
Yay! You go girl!
The thought that Mick would censor himself was depressing in the extreme.
But not half as depressing as the thought that Mick would be performing Super Bowl halftime shows at age whateverthehell.
Evidently, Mick understands that in a Time of War (tm), we all have to be careful about what we say and when we say it, especially if we've written songs entitled "Sweet Neocon." He's lucky "General" Gonzalez didn't take him out into the cane fields and have him shot.
